In the marine field, S.A.T.E. applied successfully its diagnostic models for the fault detection of the sensors of large thermal engines produced by a worldwide leader company in the construction of naval engines and other large machines in the energy production field.

These models are based mainly on the knowledge of the physical-mathematical relationships that involve the signals of interest, through mass and energy balances.
At present, S.A.T.E. is developing an adaptive diagnostic system able to learn the system normal behaviour during its operation. This has the purpose of reducing the need for offline tests for model tuning. The system is based on a diagnostic model implemented in the project Adaptive Model Diagnostics (AMD) and has been applied to the diagnosis of the engine cooling system of a vehicle and to the driving style evaluation, to detect nervous behaviour.
