DIstributed Architecture for MONitoring and Diagnosis

DIAMOND is an innovative system of monitoring and diagnosis for industrial plants (e.g. production plants, power plants...).

The main goal of DIAMOND is to increase availability and safety of installations. The system is based on an architecture which includes:

  • a network of cooperating monitoring and diagnostic agents
  • a common platform allowing communication among different agents
  • a conflict-resolution mechanism
  • a web browser based graphical user interface allowing the operator to supervise all components, even the remote ones.

In order to demonstrate the functionality and flexibility of the system, two applications (a robotic cell and a coal power plant) have been implemented. A description of the coal power plant simulator can be downloaded from our download area.

The project has been carried out by 6 European partners.
